Overview Kai Medical has used microwave Doppler radar systems in combination with the Company's highly specialized and proprietary software and algorithm combinations to develop a pipeline of products designed to address key challenges in the respiration measurement and monitoring market. Kai Medical has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its first product, the Kai Spot, a wireless, non-contact respiratory rate measurement device. The Kai Spot allows for easier collection of respiratory information for physicians and clinicians helping to increase the amount of information available on a patient and improve the overall quality of health care. Key Kai Spot advantages include: Patient Convenience: The Kai Spot is easy to use and works wirelessly, with no contact or attachment to the patient necessary, eliminating the often cumbersome nature of existing devices that need to be worn on the body. The technology allows for respiratory measurement from a distance and through clothing and bedding.Improved Consistency: Clinical observation traditionally involves a doctor or clinician observing and counting the number of times a patient's chest rises and falls in either a 60, 30, or 15 second period. This manual observation approach is time consuming and tedious. The approach is also prone to inaccuracy and inconsistency due to the potential for human error and different skill and experience levels of clinicians counting respirations.
