First of its Kind, FDA 510(k)  Cleared, Non-Contact Respiratory Rate Measurement Device:  Cumbersome and often inaccurate existing respiratory measurements and monitors have deterred physicians and medical personnel from focusing on respiratory rate as an indicator of medical distress.  The Kai Spot measures patients' respiratory rate without any device attachment to the patient.  The Kai Spot can be used from a distance and through clothing and bedding, providing optimal patient comfort. These advantages will help drive superior patient care through improved workflow -  significant time savings coupled with improved accuracy.

Application of Technology Extends Beyond Use as a Standalone Unit and Measure of Respiration:  Kai Medical is developing its platform technology as a module for integration into a broader vital signs measurement system.  While the first product was designed for spot check respiration measurements, future versions will be designed to have expanded functionality and be designed for longer measurement periods for both periodic and continuous monitoring.  Additionally, Kai Medical’s technology is compatible for expanded applications and numerous markets.
